We kicked-off their website revamp with a business strategy session to assess their needs, establish goals and their project timeline. After the session, we performed an audit of their current website to take inventory of what needed to change and what could be salvaged. Finally, we conducted a competitive landscape analysis to ensure TEDxLaJolla would stand out as the city’s most desired event to speak and volunteer at.
With a toolbox of useful insights, developed out of the strategy work, our designers got to work. The aim was to create an aesthetic that was authentically tied to the influential TED brand, while staying true to the local identity of LaJolla. We started with the mapping of their user journey and utilized our expertise in user behavior and psychology to create a user experience that was engaging and conversion-focused.We delivered the design for the client’s review, and three revisions later, we had the ideal look and layout
Now that the design was just right, it was time to make it a reality. Our developers worked closely with the designers to build the website out to the specifications and aesthetic nuances demonstrated in the design mocks. We incorporated new features like an online ticket payment system and back-end lead management to track and follow up with sales. The website was fully developed with full functionality ability for the client to edit text, images and publish blog content on their own
A full suite of pre-launch quality assurance reviews and testing took place before the website was published to ensure the website functioned as intended. Once the website was launched, we provided training for the client on how to edit existing pages and publish their own content
